Zobel – Forest Genetics Pioneer Passes

With great sadness we report the passing of Dr. Bruce Zobel, E.F. Conger Professor of Forestry at NC State and a pioneer in the field of forest genetics. Dr Zobel was born in Los Gatos, California February 11, 1920 and died February 5, 2011 at his home in Raleigh, North Carolina. Dr. Zobel's footprint in forestry can be found not just at NC State but around the world where his legacy is legendary.
